Project Manager: Friends of Manor Farm Park

For some years now, the Friends of Manor Farm Park have been working with Birmingham City Council, Bournville Village Trust and other organisations to convert the former farm buildings at the main entrance to the park on Bristol Road South into community space incorporating a cafe and toilets.

A grant from the Big Lottery's Awards for All Fund now allows us to recruit a part-time Project Manager who can help us solidify plans for the above-mentioned development. This role will bring together and coordinate the plans to develop the cafe and toilets, a new adventure play area and a Heritage Trail to celebrate the history and nature of the park.

We now wish to enter into a contract with a suitable candidate who will manage and coordinate, as appropriate, all the necessary studies and research currently being undertaken and produce options for the sustainable use of the buildings, development of the cafe and community amenities.

We see this role as a short-term, part-time contract, on a self-employed basis for this critical phase of the planning process to help us get to the point of deciding the nature and design of the final project.

The duties of the successful applicant will include, but not be limited to:

Working with other managers and officials engaged in related projects to ensure they remain consistent with the overall vision and are fully integrated with one another:

Working with the City Council and Consultants to develop and evaluate the different options and designs so that the CIO [or FoMFP]together with the Council can agree the best proposal for the development of existing buildings and available land at the Bristol Road South entrance to the park:

Liaise with these projects and act on behalf of FoMFP [or CIO]to coordinate them and ensure they are delivered on time are consistent and meet the overall objectives of the project:

Engaging with community groups, park users and other parties about the development and incorporating their views into the proposals for the project:

Developing the work of the Stakeholders Group on governance and organizational issues to produce options for consideration in the final report:

Leading on the development of the final report in conjunction with FoMFP and the Stakeholders Group.

Assisting -

Working with the specialist consultants who will carry out more detailed studies that will inform our plans for the future and

identifying other revenue streams for a sustainable building based on the original business plan; carrying out further work on the business plan to include other elements of the proposed community resources, for example, identifying and applying for additional funding, if required.
